when I first started my birth control I was concerned about all this too I was kinda nervous im on Othro-Tri Cyclen mainly because it reduces and for me even eliminated acne I have been the pill for like a year but when I started a site that really really helped me was.......
www.wdxcyber.com/ncontr13.htm
it has alot of helpful graphs and charts and tells what pill may be best for you with certain problems such as for me it was acne but it is a really helpful sight any of my friends who ask me about anything like that i.e. if they have problems with their birth control I always look it up on this site first

Not having sex lol But thats never an option until your married and had 3 children like me!
I first started on the pill im not sure which one it was a few years ago! I put on weight and i just couldnt remember to take it daily which if u miss just one tablet you can fall pregnant and even when your on antibiodics its not safe for like 2 weeks!
I then went on depo the 3mth injection and well lets just say my body rejected it and it failed .. My beautiful 2yr old is the result
Then after my 3rd i got my tubes tied its only been 3mths so lets hope this time something works!
But as everybody is different i think you should discuss what the best choice for you is with your doctor as they know what should be best for your body

well, I would NOT recommend Depo Provera (shot every three months). was on it for four years and hated it.
I am on Kariva right now and love it. It is a low dose hormone pill. I have not had any weight gain, mood swings, or spotting at strange times like I had while on depo.
The BEST birth control is abstinence. No worries about pregnancy or STD's. But I'm sure that isn't one of your options :)

I've always been a fan of Loestrin, I've taken it for years. Lighter periods, no cramping, no moodiness.
Yasmin - I just started 2nd pack and so far so good. Light periods (go a little longer than on the Loestrin) no cramping and no moodiness.

If you are not married "self control". (smile)
It depends on a lot of factors. Family medical history, allergies, lifestyle, etc. Best speak with GYN doc, then research his or her suggestions.
What may be good for another, may not be good for you!
God Bless
