I usually put the complimenting color near the inside of my eyelid (closest to nose) then follow it with green. I have found that purple gets compliments.....but I haven't tried the others....what should I do? (any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.)

Green eyes are the easiest to work with. Purple is definitely, by far, the most flattering. There are different shades of purple that you can try (eggplant, lilac, violet, etc) and mix up for new looks. Grey and pewter are also beautiful colors to try, and you can even incorporate teal/aqua blue into your color palette. The key is to try new things and to blend and mix properly. NYX (www.nyxcosmetics.com) sells good eyeshadows if you are interested in good color, and they are a good price ($3-7!).

I have eyes that seem to change from grey to green or blue.

When I was much younger (and wore more make up) I noticed that when I wanted to get a specific effect, say to make them appear more green, I'd use plum/purple shades of eye shadow. To get them to appear more blue (it sounds awful but it's true) an orange/tan shade of eye shadow did the trick.

Now that I'm older I don't wear the wild eye shadow I did years ago, but I can still get a similar effect using more subtle eyeliners in the same shades.

Best of luck to you!

I have green eyes too and I stick to earth tones...browns and such. I find it makes them stand out more. They say purple does this because its basically the opposite of green, but I feel then that people are looking at my crazy purple eyeshadow not my pretty green eyes! The good thing about green, is that they stand out on their own! Also, with earth tones, they look good with whatever color clothing you are wearing, whereas purple can clash...

well.. if you have fair skin then us a light lavender purple, if you have tan/ beige skin, then use a little bit darker of a lavender, but dont use too much otherwise, you're eyes will look weird. but for green eyes, purple eyeshadow is the best.. DO NOT use red; you'll look like christmas or just a badd rash. good luck <3

the color or colors that would look best with green eyes would have to be like a lavendar. and an earthy tone color would be nice also but i prefer like a light purple or lavendar. a light shade of pink would be really nice also. that is what i think though. hopefully you take my advice. :-)

earthly browns will make for a natural look. purples will make the green stand out. greens will as well, but as an "equality" colour. you can mix pinks in with purples, but i wouldn't use them alone. blues will actually take away from the colour.

Purple, hands down.
This is a wonderful combination. Try different shades of purple until you find the one you love.
You will get many complements.

Rust (Copper) colors and Plums go best with green eyes. Plum is more dramatic, and stands out more.
