I'm a conservative and even I can recognize that you can't be held without being charged with anything. Most of those prisoners in Gitmo have NOT been charged with ANYTHING.
Why do you hate the Constitution?

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm a liberal and spend NO time or energy fighting for the Gitmo prisoners. Guess you're wrong, huh?
Why is it that you people seize on ONE thing that happens and decide that it's someone else's priority for however long you need it to be?

They are being illegally detained without rights. I do not support them, but feel like they should have due process just like any other prisoner. Congress has introduced legislation to shut down Gitmo and move the prisoners to prisons in the U.S., where they will receive due process. We cannot pick and choose who has rights, or we are no better than the terrorists we are fighting.

Not many Liberals. It's usually just the anti-war protesters (who yes, are mostly Liberal) who fight anything the government does.

Because of a pesky little document called the US Constitution. If we start locking people away without any chance to demonstrate their innocence, and some are innocent, then we're turning our back on the Constitution and on what it means to be an American. It amazes me that so many conservatives can't see that.

Because gitmo is an unconstitutional abuse of power by the administration. They purposely put it in a place where sovereignty is an issue to evade the constitutional rights all human beings have.

The lack of respect of law for other human beings. Atleast thats how I feel. We don't even know who these people are. Bring them out, put them on trial for their crimes. Read the Bill of Rights. Don't give me any of that garbage that they aren't party of the U.S. Because if you do then it should be okay for Iran, Venezuala, etc. to take George Bush and put him on trial for crimes against humanity.
