I just don't get it. Can someone explain it. ANd also give an example.

Depends on the context.
Academically speaking, a thesis refers to a long-form paper intended to argue for or prove a particular point of view.
Philosophically, it is an assumption to be tested.

example:
THESIS: lower taxes lead to economic growth.
One would then go on to examine that idea, to make arguments and cite evidence, thereby proving or disproving the thesis. Have past tax cuts been associated with growth? Have tax increases led to economic slowdown? What other factors are involved, and how important are they? (and so forth.)

its your theory of what will happen. Like if the bridge will be hit by a bomb what will happen. Your thesis might be it will fall down.
