I've used my Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals on my black girl friends, and it worked... Of course my friends who are more richly complexioned used the darker shades like 'Warmth' because I use a very light foundation color, but it's such subtle (although it covers very well) make-up that I truly believe it works on everyone.

I've recommended it to all my friends and a few strangers too!

Love the stuff!!! But then again... I'm so white I practically glow in the dark.

While I was searching for an answer to your query I found this site, it might be helpful but I've never used their products...

Best of luck to you!!!

Bare Minerals has, like most make up products have a variety of shades and blends for most color hues, including women of color. Noticed I said most, not all. Unfortunately, I can't wear Bare Minerals. It was not dark enough for me and not enough blends in it to match my skin tone, which is the Number One problem in matching makeup for women of color. Especially those of mixed ethnicity. I'm a medium dark with, yes, yellow/orange undertones, which is hard to use makeup on. If I get makeup to match my color, too dark, match the skin undertone? too chalky. (Remember, there is a difference between your skin color and skin tone, and women of color sometime don't fall true to form, I don't) I personally recommend Iman or Bobby Brown. Even MAC can't help me all the way. I can only use their lipstick. BTW, there are other women in my family that swears by Bare Minerals. (They range from sand to cocoa tan) Everyone is different. Here are some links to search. Hope this helps, good luck.

Great Question. They do work for african-americans. They actually have three shades you can choose from. Fair skin, "normal" skin, and african american skin.

It depends on how dark you are. My cousin tried to purchase it but their darkest shade made her look ghostly.
