Ok. Some of the answers you got are quite funny.
It is funny that people don't know this history.

Before colonization the U.S., Canada, and Mexico were all one land. They weren't split up. It was ALL Native people. So when you say Natives or Mexicans, well they weren't quite Mexicans, it was all Indigenous peoples. Colonizers came and created arbitrary lines in the dirt that made such seperations. There are still tribes that cross both borders (into Mexico and into Canada).
So it was the Native people that were here first, just expand your idea of what Native people are.

The animals then the Indians followed by the some Mexicans then Spain and a few others out of town'ers. Finally the good old America opened her arms and filled the land with farms, towns, railroads and sickness.

I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Native Americans, they knew some much more about this land and its full resources they valued it, loved it, even worshiped it.

it was originally part of mexico so it was a mix of mexicans and native americans,as was texas,until it was stolen by the usa.
