If you never did drugs then dont even bother to answer because I'm sure your here just to knock drugs and label anyone that does them is a loser. First off everyone knows pot should be legal, who cares your arugment... it is not half as bad as alchol and kills 100% less than alchol (btw 0 documented weed deaths). Tobacco gimmie a break the #1 leading killer of US citizens.. there should be a war on tobacco not pot. 435,000 deaths a year thats almost 25% of all deaths are caused from tobacco related illness. I mean is something not really wrong with our society? People say it cant be regulated umm I could grow my own tobacco but I dont cause it is much easier to goto the gas station and buy it. Same could apply to mary jane. Also I'm not sure on the numbers but over 60% of people in jail are there for drug related offenses. Drug use is a medical condition not something that you can just tell someone to stop using and bam they will. They need treatment. And I doubt getting it in the A$$

EVERYTHING causes cancer. We all know the putting smoke inside your body isnt healthy. But why should the government be able to tell me what I can and cannot put into my body? And I totally agree with a drop in crime rate... and selling drugs would no longer be a source of income for Joe the Drug Dealer

Nothing, except life would be less stressful and the government could regulate and tax the crap out of it to make some more money.

I do not do drugs and I am not here to knock you. If drugs were legalized the taxes on it would be unbelievable. The jails would eventually empty out putting many out of jobs. However, current "criminals" in the process of court hearings due to drugs would not get off. They would still have to serve their time because they did the crime while it was still considered illegal. Now on another note a lot of people who have never or do not do drugs will be more likely to try and continue to use drugs because there would be no consequences for doing so. I truly believe many who have never done drugs or do not do them only don't because they fear getting caught. Oh and the taxes would go straight to the politicians of course.

First off not everyone kows pot should be legal and people who have never done drugs dont necissarily think that all druggies are losers. I thint pot should be legalized. I think you made some really valid points. One thing you did leave out and this is what makes people hate drugs so much is the violence that comes out of drug dealing. Drug dealers will only continue to make as much as they are making as long as they are illegal. Drug dealers are the last people who want to see drugs legalized. How can Joe drugdealer make anymoney when marijuana can be found at every valero?

I have been a drug user most of my life I'm 55. People say marijuana is the gateway to other drugs although I used it was not
my drug of choice and marijuana did not open the door to other drugs, I did. Beer and stimulants were my drugs of choice
which were both legal at the time Black mollies if prescribed. I also graduated to meth acid, shrooms, and some downers. Now I'm watching my kids ( teenagers) going through what I did. If they are going to smoke I tell them to use for functions like concerts and weekends because it will affect their concentration at school. That is the only problem that I've ever seen for marijuana users . If they legalize it they will tax it to death and then they will conduct studies showing it will make you to want to rape, kill, Mame have sex with animals blah blah and you still have to pass a drug test and most jobs will not hire you even if it is legal.

If pot were legal: many corrupt government agents, politicians and other high rollers in the corporate world would have to find another source of illegal income. And then they would actually have to pay taxes on the revenue they earn from their drug trade. Boo hoo, the powerful rich men would have to pay their taxes.

PS - Oh! and those same old guys would have to become accountable for who they sell the drugs to - and they would be punished for selling to children. They wouldn't want that, because hooking children in is the easiest way to guarantee perpetual revenue.

A few thousand less people would be in jail. The price of pot would go way down, and no one would be pushing it. My guess is that consumption would stay about the same. Seems to me that there are a few weed deaths. Didn't I hear about a drowning where pot was reasonably clearly involved? Then to the savings in law enforcement would be large.

Okay i just read the question itself because the rest was way too long for my short attention span: If pot were legalized, the government would tax the %#@& out of it and make it so expensive that people would just buy it underground anyways and I'd probably never to come to work and I'd get too fat to wear any of my clothes, but I'd be high 24 hours a day so it wouldnt bother me a bit

Can we answer if we have relatives who never stopped smoking pot once they started in the 1960's... relatives who, though in their 60's, age-wise, are still largely dependent on family members for financial support, since these relatives' money goes to buying pot, and their brain cells just kind of stagnate in the motivation department...
Huh? Can I answer then? 'Cause the only reason I never did drugs is because of the effect drugs had on my drug-taking family members... and consequently, the effect some of those family members had on my sister and myself growing up...

Because, given MY experience, if pot were legal, there'd be that many more 45+ year olds living as dependents in their parents' basements.

One major concern over pot use is that it leads to use of harder drugs like cocaine. Also, the effects of using marijuana with other substances like alcohol seems to increase the detrimental effects of both.

Now, you are probably right in that pot use alone is probably not as harmful as other legal substances or activities (e.g. driving / riding in cars). Still, it's quite likely that if pot use if legal here in the States AND unmoniotored (i.e. no pot shops like those in Sweden) there will be a significant rise in pot related deaths and accidents.

Hypothetically conversing Marijuana become legalized, attempting out might bypass down. not extra P.O. attempting out you. whether you may extra then in all threat get examined with the help of an employer, looking on your line of artwork. company shops like Vons, Albertsons...etc, all those mediocre jobs maximum in all threat won't try you. they say they might try you at the instant, yet they under no circumstances do. the probabilities of it being legalized are narrow nonetheless. end answering those questions telling human beings to end smoking marijuana, no longer what hes searching for. and intensely little or no places even try for alcohol. generally drivers consisting of transporters, limo drivers etc, are those being examined every time they start up up there automobile. i used to be a motive force for a mortuary delivery employer, and a few mortuarys might setting up breathalizer assessments on your automobile and you could in easy terms start up the automobile in case you bypass the try asserting your alcohol point is under the criminal minimize. And Marijuana doesnt incredibly cut back to rubble your physique. Sorry to assert yet all this drugs are undesirable crap is a lot over exaggerated. I used to bypass to college extreme incredibly lots ordinary, re-up each and every so often for the duration of lunch, and that i controlled to hold a three.0 GPA. and that i become completely healthy, i might walk 2+ miles ordinary and that i under no circumstances had the sensation that i could no longer breathe or some bull. no longer something incorrect with it in my eyes. and actually i think of the government spends additional money then it makes protecting marijuana unlawful. I dont even think of it makes a pofit tbh. With our cutting-edge financial disaster, legalizing it ( nonetheless im incredibly confident it wont ensue) might incredibly be a plus. no longer in easy terms might they be spending much less tax money to fund specific communities distinctive to abolish drug use. yet they might additionally positioned taxs on it. And im confident no broker could be waiting to maintain up with the mass production and inflow in marijuana if the government desperate to take administration of that marketplace.
