Did it get there and do you think the deer could still be alive?

The answers are endless. And no it is most likly dead. In this the real world animals eat animals, such is life. Also you have to understand that animals will eat dead animals also. The ways the leg got into the tree could come from preditors, elements or other means. Maybe he was jumping and got hung up. It happens. Life is such in the wild.

Most likely the deer was hit by a truck and it threw it up in the tree, no, the deer was not still alive.

It is possible that some type of cat pulled it up into the tree to eat it. I have seen Bobcats do it, and I would assume that other types of cats would also. The deer could not possibly still be alive.

The easiest explanation is you live in a place with cougars or bears and one of them dragged it there.
It is possible it got stuck in a tree during a deep snowfall and died.
It's probably dead, though.
That being said, even deer sometimes are crazy. I've known dogs of breeds that aren't supposed to climb trees that climbed trees.
If so, it sure is a specialized skill!

The deer probably was drug up into the tree by a big cat and now it is probably in that cats belly!!
depending on where u r bears are probably still hibernating so it probably wasnt a bear most likely a big cat,

Are you sure it isn't a Deer that is being hung to drain. as in field dressed. You may only be seeing the bottom part.

Im sure its not alive. They can jump high if provoked maybe it was after something.
