I cant seem to think of Nash along the lines of Jordan, Magic, Bird, Wilt, Malone, Duncan, and even Wilton, etc. His stats last 2 seasons look good, but a lot of it is due to new NBA rules that are designed to protect players like him.
Whats your take?

1. So I am the crazy one. Explain to me how does Jordan Magic and Bird not make everyone around them better.
2. I dont see any players on Phoenix that become significantly better due to Steve Nash. Look at Mavericks team with Nash and without Nash. They got better after Nash left.
3. Steve Nash is easily the worst defender among MVPs. Magic played PG but he defended SFs if you know anything about Lakers. Nash is a one dimensional - offense only - player.
4. The only thing Nash made better is the Phoenix team started winning after he joined. Mavericks also gone deeper into playoffs after he left.
Sorry, I still cant put Nash among aforementioned MVPs. He is too one dimensional, overhyped, and over protected.

-New rules have no effect. Then explain to me how Phoenix started winning and Nash's stats started to go up after new rules went into effect.
-It also conveniently happens that Phoenix boss Colangelo is the one who came up with these new rules.

I know! I've been thinking the same thing. I think both of these last couple years Iverson should've won (and actually I hate A.I.). What I can't believe is that not only did he win MVP once, but TWICE. Look at all of these multiple winners; I think they deserved them a lot more than Nash:
Multiple Winners
6 - Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
5 - Michael Jordan
5 - Bill Russell
4 - Wilt Chamberlain
3 - Larry Bird
3 - Magic Johnson
3 - Moses Malone
2 - Tim Duncan
2 - Karl Malone
2 - Steve Nash
2 - Bob Pettit
I think Nash is a great player, but not great enough to get MVP. Right now, there are many that are better and I hope maybe that more people can see that. But I must confess, he might be the best player when it comes to teamwork.

I think you answered your own question and that's why Point Guards almost never win the MVP award. However, it looks like Nash may when it a 3rd time this year with the way he's played so far and the fact that the team lost without him. That's assuming he comes back to the same level as prior to the injury. The guy is a leader and makes his team better, mentioning the Mavericks is a waste of time since they've completely overhauled that roster since Nash left along with changing coaches. Dirk probably should've won the MVP 1 of the last 2 years. If Kobe's team had made the playoffs he would've won it last year. There are no dominant centers in the NBA either.

You are crazy, Steve Nash is amazing! I dont think you can dog on someone that won an MVP award. I believe that the people that vote for the MVP are highly qualified NBA analysts and writer! Their job is to know EVERYTHING about the play of NBA players! So I guess you are saying you know something that they don't?
The players 10-15 years ago are not as good as the ones today. The talent and level of play has risen since then. Choosing an MVP today is harder and whoever the assc. chooses must deserve it!

He may not be along the lines of the players you have listed there but facts are facts and the fact is ever since he joined the Suns Nash has made them into title contenders. Without him the team is barely a .500 team. So no he is not the worst MVP of all time.

Look how much Phoenix has struggled since Nash has been hurt. Look at their record before he got there. Look at how well they did last year without Amare. Nash is what holds that team together. He is likely one of the best PG's ever. I am not saying the best, but he is up there. He can pass, penetrate, shoot, and he DOES make everyone around him better.

When you have the ability to score 20-25 ppg and give it up for 15-20 apg . You are making your teammates better. Now i am a la lakers and a kobe fan, so i would have liked nash to have lost the mvp last year, but he clearly deserved it. Know forst of teh ppp to apg. lets say he score 25 points per game. well hes not gonna get 20 assist because hes busy scoring. so on his part he contibuted 29 points to the suns in the game. ( 2 assisit) If he gets 20 apg he is contributing 40 pionts and the lets say he score 10 thats 50 points a night. And the confidence in his teammates rise. They know he will fig them because he looks to make them better. and to do that he raises their confidence.

Well, new rules, new game. Even so, even Jordan, Bird, Wilt, Malone Duncan Wilton and even myself can not be compared to each other. All the recipients are chosen for what THEY have brought to the game. You still enjoy the game, right?

He's a completely different type of player than the others you mentioned. He is not a scorer in the traditional sense but he makes every other player on his team better... much better. He is definitely the MVP of the league.

Are you REALLY going to waste your time trying to label somebody "the worst of the best"?? What's the point??
All I can say is that if you don't truly understand Nash's value to the Suns, and you think you are going to be able to measure that value in the box score, you REALLY don't know the game.
