i notice that when i run maintenance, like deleting temp files and cookies, that all the firefox usernames and passwords stored for web pages are still there. i like that cause i am constantly cleaning out the caches, but worry about security. i am running zone alarm antivirus/firewall on a windows xp. thanks :)

No. Absolutely NOT.

There are several very valid reasons for this:
1) As the post above suggests, the possibility of being hacked always remains. Are you willing to risk all your stored passwords to be compromised at the same time?
2) A good password is as long as you can get away with. You will get lots of conflicting advice on what constitutes a good password. The fact is "thisismyattempatanextremelylongandlongwindedpasswordmadeupentirelyoflowercaseenglishlanguagewords" takes far longer to break than "$trongPa33word".
3) Good passwords live in your head and only in your head.

First Point or Question would be, Are any of us safe from hackers?

With that being said, Firefox is known for it's security in the browser, and Zone Alarm is a excellent Program, so your odds of attack are slimmer then those running IE with or without a good firewall, Also I would recommend a good Anti-Spyware App, AdAware SE Personal, it does a good job, just remember to keep it updated regularly.. Good Luck

You should be fine, nothing to worry about. I do the same and I have never had a problem. Firefox is a very reliable and secure browser so don't worry.

certainly that's worry-unfastened experience to appreciate that storing your password on a working laptop or pc is often going to be much less shelter than typing them in each time? in the experience that your password are in basic terms on your head then no you will get to them, in the event that they're on your pc then there may be a manner for somebody to come across them.

You should be safe as long as you keep your security programs up to date and don't disable them. But in all honesty if someone really wants access to your computer files the only way to be 100% safe is to stay off the internet, but who has that option?!

You will be protected aslong as you have updated proper security. It sounds like you got plenty of security to me. Just make sure they are always updated and run scans.
