Or just stop at the question and then answer? I mean, thats what the detail box is there for. The answer with an obvious answer that is already in the details box and it just makes me wonder. I mean come on people! You know how to read right?

I'm not putting anyone down either, I just find that so irritating!

Well, the first thing I noticed was that you didn't have anything written in the detail box...so, I went on and read your entire question. Ask Kimberly (if you know how to find her) if I read the entire question. She asked a question and on a single line not related to question she wrote something and I was the only person to catch it -- why? Cause I read the entire question! Some people just skim through questions just to get the drift / write an answer for the points.

I used to think they did. However recently I saw some in DIY where people said that had already tried a few things to solve their problem and some answerers say "Why don't you try ..." and suggest the ones already in the details as tried. That proves there is no way they did that reading.

I am not talking about those super-long "bf said - gf said" ones - just "I unplugged the light and the fuse still blew" details of a sentence or two.

I guess they are just so enthused about responding quickly that they don't stop to read or think.

well if something just says "maybe so" to something yea it kinda does. but sometimes people say things for humor or something.. polls and surveys really isn't the best place to put anything serious... and the more details you have will probably make people think on different levels. some people may only get a part of it...
and think something...
like... in rudeness someone can simply say to this. question: Don't post questions if you can't handle the replies.
There are tons of questions that go unanswered, and there are thousands of other questions what makes yours so much better?

This place isn't about bothering people, except to some annoying people... just thumb-em down and move on ya know? :)

I understand your frustration! I recently asked a question and put a description in the detail box..I think 1 person read it! How crazy!

If I'm going to take the time to answer a question I make sure that I read the entire thing.

I read the question AND details, unless the details are miles long, then I don't bother to continue reading and I don't answer.

I think people are more interested in being the first one to answer than actually answering the question.
I hate when people write the same answer that someone else has already given. It's like, Hello! Someone has already pointed that out!
Thanks for letting me vent!

Yes, I do read the entire question and details.

People are hurried and don't want to read a long paragraph, generally about someone's stupid personal life... (I have this gf or bf, etc.!). It's too much to read, and generally too much to answer for the average reader here.
This is just "my" opinion!
