i am getting a vertabim 512mb usb key for basic storage ,its usb 2.0 compatible and 1.1 backwards compatible
my question is will i be able to use this device with windows vista speed boost,i have tried speed boost with a 512mb mp3 player(removable storage),and it says its not comaptible
will this device work?

Yes it will work that is designed for usb flash drives but not mp3 players. The flash disk should work with Vista.

Are you talking about ready boost? So you can increase your RAM? Ya it should work. The mp3 player probably would not work because the transfer rate is too slow, but the usb memory should work. I use a memory and use it for redy boost sometimes, it works.

yeah it will work, but to get the most out of it, you can't fill it up with other stuff. i tried to use my iPod, but it says it wasn't compatible, but my 256mb memory pen works. (even tho it says you need a 512mb one)
