The Montgomery GI Bill is for education purposes, so no, she can't use her GI bill to purchase a home. However, since she has an honorable discharge, she may be able to get the VA to back her on a home loan. She would have to apply for this entitlement through her nearest VA office, and she should be able to download and print the forms from the VA website (http://www.va.gov/). Your mother should do some looking, though -- there isn't an advantage to using your VA eligiblility to buy a home when interest rates are low, so she may be better off getting a mortgage through lendingtree.com or some other mortgage service.

She can't......perhaps you were referring to a VA loan? With interest rates being so low and the large assortment of creative financing available, the VA Home Loan is all but obsolete. Your mother can likely do better and jump through a lot less hoops by going through a normal broker. Have her check out the free evaluation form at

and a loan officer from their extensive network will call her. Good luck,
