Most banks will cash your check even if you do not have an account with them. Because you do not have an account, they will charge you a check cashing fee, usually between $5 and $10 dollars.

You don't need a checking/savings account to cash a government issued check.

You can go to a check cashing place, Walmart, or a grocery store, like HEB. Call first and find out how much the percentage is to cash it there. All you need is your id.
