G'day,

These are what you need to do:
1. Get the application form for the university that you want to study in.
2. Fill in the form and send it together with certified copy of your academic transcripts (in English).
3. While waiting you may want to take the IELTS (English proficiency) test. This is needed on the later stage of application process and to apply for visa as well. Weblink provided below.
4. Once you got the offer, and met all conditions (if there are), then pay the required tuition fee and you can apply for student visa.

That's the path in general. So you need to apply and offered a place in the uni first, then apply for student visa.

Hope this helps. If you want to ask more, e-mail me at mikegun@studentfirst.com.au. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia.

Hi there,

As a reference, you could check out the GoAbroad.com's Degree Courses listings for Australia: http://www.degreeabroad.com/Australia.cfm

GoAbroad.com's directories are pretty comprehensive. They also took the time to verify most of the study abroad providers(look for the light green logo check, check+ or check++). Also, some degree programs there has some testimonials from past participants(look for the "speaking" light blue logo).

Hope this helps.
Good Luck :)

Hi Rita.
I am 34 and have just moved to Oz from UK and I am studying at Queensland TAFE. Look at this website from Ozzie immigration, it will give you all the answers you need. As English is not your first language, you will need to sit an English test (IELTS), this is relatively in-expensive but apparently quite daunting!!
Good luck with your application, with your studies and with your future hunny! x
