i've had both and obviously the nose hurts more AND makes you tear up because the nose nerves are connected to the tear ducts. plus, the nose piercing hurts anytime you want to change your nose ring unless you do it all the time then it gets used to it. the belly piercing did hurt, i mean it's a needle going through your skin, but it was quick. they both hurt for a while after because of the healing process.
I got mine when I was older so I didn't have to ask for permission, but my daughter would like piercings. the only way I let her do them is if they won't affect her future in whatever career she chooses. she wants those big ones on the earlobe and I say no. whether she gets them when she turns 18 is her choice, but I hope that the reasons I give her will sink in. she wants to become a doctor, a pediatrition actually, and moving up in that career is hard enough as a woman and a minority. she can get them after she's established herself and has commanded the respect from people for her intellect instead of her looks. we must remember that people judge based on looks and there are alot of conservative people in the world so we must make wise choices.

Well, a friend of mine said that when her and her aunt went to get their belly buttons pierced, her aunt was bleeding pretty badly. I'm sure a nose piercing won't be any where near as painful as that. As far as the parents go, I think you should tell them about the piercing you want the most rather than springing both of them on them at once. You'll have a better chance of getting your way.

I have never had my nose pierced, but I thought my upper ear piercing hurt more than my belly-button.(It doesn't really hurt that much, I would do it again). Good luck with the parents.

Depends on a couple of things. First, your pain tolerance. I went with my ex to get alot of piercings. Belly button not so bad, and the nose, it depends where you get it. If you get the side done, not bad at all. On the other hand, if you get the cartilage done(the center) it's more painful. As for the parents, I'd remind them that piercings aren't permanent.

Okay, well I haven't done either one of those piercings but on the second part of your question... just do it. You're at least 18, aren't you? If not, the belly button shouldn't be so hard to convince them into letting you do it. It's cute, a lot of people do it. Tell them you just want to fit in! LOL As for the nose though, a little harder. I'd wait for that one.

my kids have both. They both hurt. My daughter can not use her nose one because she is a nrurse. My daughter that has a belly button one said it hurt alot.
You really need to be 18 before getting a piercing...because by then you can make your own decitions...not just go along with the crowd.

If you're 18 or older, it's up to you if the trend is worth the pain. Otherwise, i would suggest clip - ons or magnetic. That would also give you an idea of how you'd like the piercings before you make that commitment.
