Egarth day is to celebrate all our mates named Garth. On Egarth day we are obligated to email Garth and will him a happy Egarth day.

In some parts of the world, Egarth day is second only to Swiftkick day. That is the day that people go round giving each other a swift kick up the bum on the tiny islands where it originated.

Fitrst, saying "I have no doubts it's American" can be taken as a rude and prejudice (of sorts) comment.
I don't take it that way, ...I am just saying.
Earth Day is to inspire and teach others about the natural beauty that is out there, not electronic entertainment. And to help preserve the small out of real natural beauty that is out there.
The UN celebrates Earth Day on the vernal equinox, which is usually around March 20th or March 21st or so.

I dont remember cards being sold on this day, but i think the purpose of Earth Day is teach children in school about recycling, reducing, and reusing. Just a day for mother nature. If they do start selling cards and create some animal that gives toys to children, then I am really going to be sick.

Earth Day is a day created by Americans to recognize and protect the Earth's wildlife, rainforests, etc. You can give cards on Earth Day, even though it's unheard of, as long as they are 100% recycled. My school celebrates Earth Day by decorating grocery bags saying slogans such as "Give a Hoot! Don't Pollute!" Technically it's not a holiday but many many people celebrate it.

I detect a hint of disdain in your message. Yes, it was created by Americans, but it's not really a holiday. It's a day to recognize that we are supposed to be good stewards of the earth and that we really need to step up to the task. We plant trees, hold information sessions, talk to children about the earth, discuss recycling, etc. Not that it won't, but I haven't seen it turn commercial yet.

Earth Day was created to create environmental awareness and to promote conservation. As far as I know, no one gives cards on Earth Day (that wouldn't make much sense).

I have never heard of that holiday. Is "egarth day" related to the popular expression "egads?" Which I am sure you have no doubt about either.
