1)When you cover a chapter in school, the teacher will assign a number of problems. Do these problems, and all the other ones in the chapter.
2)Work a little each and every day.
3)Go to a half price book store and buy a different book covering the same material. Work the problems in this book, as well as your own.
4)In the summer, buy a (used) book that covers the material for the next year. Read through it and get ahead.

Practice, practice, practice...and a positive attitude...apply it to every day life...figure out if you really are saving money at the grocery store buying the bigger package, do the math, figure it out...get someone to pepper you with a series of numbers occasionally throughout the day...they say these sorts of exercises keep you more mental in tune.

I would suggest getting a tutor, maybe ask your teachers for a little extra help. Do you have a friend that could help you?

well repetition is the foundation for clarity. so you just have to make sure and practice. if you don't understand be sure to ask questions! also another way of getting it to stick in your head is to teach it to a friend.
