A sound card changes 0 and 1 that the computer understands and converts it to sound and it then plays music or sound to a skeaker. The sound card is located in different places in computers it can be on the motherboard next to the usb ports or it could be in an ISA, PCI or PCI Express slot. It can be found at the back of the case. Note not all computers have sound cards.

A sound card is a generic term for any device on a computer that produces sound (play music, sound effects, etc.). New PCs have the sound card embedded into the motherboard (look for green headphone jacks on the back).

But if you have an older computer, OR have upgraded the sound card, it may be an add-on card inside the computer. Also look on the back for a headphone jack.

You can also get "sound cards" that are external, and hook to a standard USB port on the computer.

Depends on the motherboard installed in your PC , But i will try to make it simpler. At the back of the machine u can see 3 female jacks (PINK : GREE : BLUE) or in some cases (RED : GREEN : BLUE) or in some cases it may be in black. If your machine is a tower cabinet then onboard sound will be in vertical direction and PCI Card will be in horizontal direction. And if the machine is flat cabinet then the direction would be vice a versa. If you require more help and live in Mumbai call me I am service engginer 9 8 6 9 6 3 7 6 1 5

A sound card is exactly what its named! Its what is in your PC to output sound to your speakers. Some motherboards have onboard sound, some have a sound card installed in a slot on the board. Look on the back of your PC where the speakers plug in. Thats either a sound cord or an onboard sound jack.
