They never want to list the ingredients. I like to compare things so I can get the cheapest price. A big bucket of the powder costs over $10 here. That seems like a ripoff. Isn't it just an oxygen booster? I suspect the cheap ones would do the same thing..... boost oxygen. I also suspect peroxide would do the same thing, and that's INCREDIBLY cheap. Thoughts?

One thing I used it for is those cheap little white canvas tennis shoes you get at walmart, target. They will come out looking like new if you soak them in blazing hot water and oxyclean. However, these shoes are basically disposable since they're so cheap. Might be just as well to get a new pair ; )~

I wouldn't call it a "rip off" because it will work, but it's not the miracle cure the commercials would have your believe, but your thoughts on peroxide are correct. You can do so much with peroxide and it's cheap. It cleans like crazy and is perfectly safe. You can even use it as a gargle and it helps to whiten your teeth. I wouldn't put Oxy clean in my mouth. Pour some peroxide in the wash, in your floor mop water, wipe down the countertops, pour some in the toilet and let it foam for a while, it's great stuff, and it's just water and oxygen (basically).

I like Oxy Clean quite well and I do use it a lot. However if I have something that is supposed to be white but turns yellow or is discolored I use one half cup of Cascade in the washer with cold water. It works great. But it shouldn't be used on color items or in every load as it is abrasive and will eventually wear the materials.

Sun has a similar product I get at Dollar General around 5 bucks for the same size. It does help prevent stains. Our water softner went out just as the snow hit. The oxy product is helping keep my whites white in our rusty hard water. I'm glad I just got some. I think it is a good product.

I agree. I bought some when it first came out and I didn't have very good results with it at all. I found that Woolite Oxy-Deep for carpets works much better and only costs about $3. It works so well I even use it on laundry stains!

I think it is, I don't notice any changes. If you will notice on TV the stains they clean up are fresh stains, most anything will clean up a fresh stain. It is the old stains that I want to be able to get out. I tried Oxy-Clean and was not impressed at all.

Oxy Clean is an absolute fraud; It cleans about as well as using plain water out of the tap.

I tried it and didn't notice difference when cleaning. I never bought it again.

P.S.....Your tennis shoes probably got clean from the hot water alone!

I have tried oxy clean several times and I won't waste my money on it again. It's never helped with anything I tried it on.

i've used it in the past and it didn't work. all it did was land me in the dr's office because i had a bad allergic reaction to it. besides that, the stains stayed and my whites never got any whiter. just use clorox and you'll be better off.
