Well, the Second Amendment IS your gun permit, but states have laws that restrict gun ownership, some more than others--and it's all unconstitutional.

Some states you need a permit (like here in Ohio) to carry a concealed weapon, while it's not required in New Hampshire.

We Americans love our freedom, most of us anyway. And the way to stay free is to be prepared to fight for it. This is a lesson that the British should have learned long ago. The "shot heard around the world" was fired when British troops attempted to disarm colonist in this country. We didn't let you take our guns then we really don't give a hoot about what you think about our gun laws now.

That being said, England has become so crime ridden that they now have knife ban coming along since gun bans didn't do anything but increase crime. How intelligent.

Next it will be cricket bats.

It certainly doesn't pay to defend ones self in England as you'll most likely end up in jail if you do. You are better off allowing yourself to be beaten, robbed, or raped than you are to try and fight off an attacker with the current foolishness going on there.

To buy from a licensed gun dealer takes paperwork that varies from state to state. Generally, the buyer must be 18. A handgun (not a rifle) takes a background check required by national law. The mentally handicapped and those with criminal felony convictions are prohibited by law. Purchasing from an individual that wants to sell their gun has no restrictions. Where an individual may use a gun or show a gun or transport a gun is highly regulated. Generally, you can only keep a gun if you own your own house, otherwise you must ask the landlord. Only in Texas can you defend your property (including livestock). All other states request you specifically state "I was in fear for my life" before ascertaining that you were using the gun correctly or incorrectly.

But yes, in some states, you can walk into Walmart, prove you are a resident of that state and purchase a hunting rifle and walk out with it.

Before John F. Kennedy was assasintated in Dallas, hunting rifles could be ordered from a mail-order catalog and shipped right to your front door.

that's not actual that any you are able to own a gun interior the US. All states have different regulations concerning gun possession and the skill to hold the weapon. Even interior the state, cities can bypass their own gun regulations. In my city, the regulation is which you would be able to no longer own a handgun except you're a police officer. additionally, felons and those arrested for enjoyed ones violence are no longer allowed handguns the two. the difficulty, is nonetheless, that the folk who're doing crimes with weapons, i'm particular, are no longer getting them legally, registering them, going for the duration of the waiting era and each thing else they're meant to be doing. If i did no longer purchase it legally and the gun isn't registered and the government says I ought to teach it in, how do they understand I certainly have it? there is not any way, my opinion, that any government would desire to get each gun from its voters. regrettably, while your coping with somebody for sure as volatile through fact the Virginia Tech shooter, i've got self assurance that if he did no longer have a handgun, he would have got here across yet in a different thank you to do what he did. Bombs, gas, hearth, etc. His purpose grow to be to commit suicide and take extremely some those with him.

Just for the benefit of you dumb Limeys, while gun crimes may have gone down (and that is doubtful), other violent crimes in the UK have gone up.
You may be used to being the subject of a sometimes tyrannical ruler, but we are free. That freedom is safer because the 2nd amendment to our Constitution helps prevent a tyrannical government from taking away all our rights.
BTW, aloud is the sound a gun makes, however you are allowed to show your ignorance.

Yes you can buy a gun in the U.S. Each state, and some cities, have restrictions on the purchase, carry of a firearm. You also will have to get a background check performed when you purchase the firearm.

Check your local laws.

We maybe dumb but we have less violent crime. Not even in the top 10.

A BACKGROUND CHECK IS DONE BEFORE AN F.O.I. CARD IS ISSUED. A FEDERAL OWNER'S IDENTIFICATION CARD IS NEEDED TO BUY ANY FIREARM.
IF YOU HAVE A CRIMINAL RECORD (NOT A TRAFFIC TICKET), YOU CAN'T BUY A GUN.
ONCE YOU HAVE AN FOI CARD YOU MAY BUY A RIFLE OR SHOTGUN IF YOU'RE 18 OR OLDER AND A HAND GUN IF YOU ARE 21 OR OLDER.
A SPECIAL PERMIT IS NEEDED FOR AUTOMATIC WEAPONS.
ps. we didn't lose the revolutionary war, mate.............lol
