WASHINGTON (AFP) - The Pentagon dismissed as "ludicrous" a BBC report that the US military has drawn up detailed contingency plans for air strikes against Iran.

The BBC, citing diplomatic sources, said target list extends beyond Iran's nuclear facilities to include its military infrastructure -- air bases, naval bases, missile facilities and command and control centers.

The report said triggers for an attack are confirmation that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, or a high casualty attack on US forces in Iraq that is traced directly to Iran.

I would trust the BBC to tell us what is going on more than the Pentagon. The Pentagon has a lot to lose if even the SUGGESTION of plans to attack Iran gets out. Why? Because it proves that the whole escalation plan had to do with attacking Iran and not protecting Iraq like they said it was...it would just another lie that Bush has told. The BBC is trying to publish the news and is more open minded than American journalism which is funded by special groups that are funded via Politicians...the American news and politicians are already in bed together.

I don't believe anything the press says on any wars until they happen. There just looking for stories that will sell and get your attention!

By the way, the Pentagon has contengency plans in place for anything that may happen world wide! So, I'm positive there is a plan and they could be picking targets, JUST IN CASE. That does not mean we are going to war. I can guarantee you that there are plans and targets chosen for most any country that is on our radar, including Russia and China.

The Pentagon often uses Brit Media to leak its own selected info when the Brass find it useful.
The U.S. has contingency plans for everyone. Of course they have plans for Iran. This shouldn't even be news.

IF you knew half of what you think you know, you would know the Pentagon has strike plans for everywhere in the world.
