i just dont understand it...

He isnt a ball hog he averages 4.5 assists for his career while averaging 24.2 ppg... He's only a SG you can't expect him to have 20 assists like Nash.
He gets along with his teammates... The whole Shaq problem began with Phil Jackson not only Kobe...
He's not an asshole he treats his fans with respect and he appreciates every last one of them
But you got players like Iverson who chase people down with SHotguns and hates his teammates, Barkely throwing chairs at his fans,Sprewell choking his coach, Artest who always cause trouble
But Kobe is attacked... Just leave the guy alone and let him play ball... He isnt the next Jordan but he's the closet person to him...

Okay he did cheat on his wife... he did apologize... im pretty sure a good majority of nba players cheat on their wives... but it was never brought out in the open...

Last year he averaged 35 PPG and he's still a ballhog
But let Iverson average 36, T-Mac average 35 but they are known as team players because they have guys who can complete an assist. Not Kobe's fault he doesn't have much talent since shaq left...
He is taking a young group to the playoffs hopefully this time he can depend on his teammates and they can help out. No one man could bring a team a championship win

I'm so glad someone finally said what I've been thinking for so long now, Everyone needs a public Enemy #1 and after that whole rape charge thing it was sealed and official that Kobe was going to be that guy, He's going to go down in history as probably one of the top 10 greatest players of all time. No he's never going to be the next jordan but I can gurantee you this when Kobe retires people are going to be saying this guy and that guy are going to be the next Kobe and his Legacy will live on. Kobe Bryant hands down one of the greatest players to play the game.

Several points....
For starters, paying the accuser off to avoid prosecution does not make you innocent nor does it exonerate you. To act like his criticism is "unjust" based on the fact that "charges were dropped" is just plain ignorant and self serving.
Look, it's not so much a "Kobe" thing...it's what he represented and what he sold himself to be prior to the accusations that still turns people. He was the NBA's version of Peyton Manning... the next Jordan... the good kid from the ghetto who made it big and did it the right way. We were all sold on that crap and all bought in. It was a mighty long way to fall once the public realized that he wasn't perfect.
Arguing the alleged facts of what did or didn't happen is pointless. Only Kobe and the accuser truly know. Was the accuser looking to "get rich quick", probably...was she truly an inocent victim, uhhmm, I doubt it. BUT, Kobe and ONLY Kobe was responsible for putting himself in that situation... regardless of the accuser's intentions. Even after the accusations, the public was wanting to believe in Kobe... this is where I feel he lost so many fans. Had Kobe been a MAN and admitted that he made a mistake...that he WAS human, I think he would of been OK. BUT, instead, he went on national television, with his wife by his side and not only showed the world that he was truly a coward, but also had no remorse towards his wife, the accuser, or himself.
We ALL learned the REAL truth about Kobe! We learned that his wealth, fame, and success was not a product of his hard work, commitment, or moral character that we had been led to believe, but rather (like most all others these days) that HE was truly the product of his wealth, fame, and success.
Like most other athletes these days, he's no better and no worse than the rest. There will always be people that will cheer you regardless of what you do.... it would just be a refreshing change to actually have "today's athlete" acknowledge and understand that those people cheer for the name on the front of the jersey....not the one on the back. That's what we thought we had in Kobe. That's why people will always "hate" on Kobe. He can win as many MVP's as he wants, as many scoring titles as he wants, etc. etc. but no amount of points, assists, and steals can fill that void in his character nor replace the decisions that he made.

it is so true that Kobe was framed and still people think he raped that chick in colorado ... he was tried and convicted by the media ... and thats sad

but I'll tell you my impression and why I dont like him ... hes a spoiled rich kid ... aloof and condisending, arrogant and self centered ... when all that started he thought he was untouchable ... and the way he kissed his wife *** and begged her to come back, in front of the media after all that, was just embarassing ... so I also think hes full of s#!t too ... hey, dont get me wrong, i'm sure hes a nice enough guy, and Kobe can do whatever he likes to do, it cool with me :) ... but spare me the "kobes really is a nice guy speech" ... he's rich, imature, and self centered ... and it has cost him, a few times

(with that said, I have seen some groth in kobe this year, in his game and in the way he carries himself ... perhaps he has learned something from his mistakes ... we shall see)

Ps. btw, i'm not sure if you got the memo ... but last time I checked A.I. and T-mac were still ball hogs :P

Because they're idiots and racists. A white Hollywood star cheats on their partner and no one cares but Kobe does it and he is called a piece of garbadge for the rest of his life. It's really BS and tell the idiot above me that Kobe's not a kid from the ghetto he speaks like 6 languages. See all people are jealous by nature but some let it cloud their judgement like Kobe Haters.

I cant speak for all anti Kobe fans but I don't like for the following reasons. people said he was going to be the next jordan and he not a good role model like jordan. he is a laker and I dislike all laker players. and he didn't help solve the problem with him and phil or him and shaq so therefore he just as much part of it as they are. I do respect the guy he has some skills. weather I like him or not when I wacth him I always wondering how is going to try to gaurd kobe. this is just like a lot dont like chris webber but doing his prime people still knew he had skills.

Well I'm not Kobe Bryant's biggest fan but I don't hate him either. You have to respect the type of player his is as far as his talent and skill. But as AJ said everyone needs someone to hate, that's the way it is in every sport. In basketball it's Kobe.

Well I think Kobe would steal 10 cents before he would have to rape someone. If anything she raped him. People hate Kobe because he is better than who most people consider the greatest player ever. Now I think Shaq is the greatest ever but that is another story.

RJ.
