Yes, I know babies spit up, it's what they do. But my Son spits up 5-6 times every hour and some of the time it's clear. We have tried every bottle under the sun, burp him every 1-2 ozs and he's on Nestle goodstart. the only thing we havn't tried is putting cereal in his bottle, some people have told me it helps with the spit up. I just need a way to help my baby, he cries everytime he spits up and he has bad gas, the Mylicon drops don't help. Does the cereal work, or what would you recommened I try? And, yes I 've been to his Dr...they say not to worry about it but I can't help but to worry.

My daughter did the same thing, I wish they made a bucket to put in front of her, She was on Isomil formula. Do not put cereal in the bottle. That is not good. Just let it takes its course.

It's a possibility the formula is causing your baby to spit up, I would try switching to another. Also, if the baby is under 6 months old, he should only be drinking a 4 oz. bottle every couple of hours. If he's drinking 6-8 oz., he's getting too much and that's what is causing him to spit up.

Well my son used to do the same thing he is now 5 months.Sounds as if he is not doing well with the formula he is on it may make him gassy.Try another brand for about a week and see how he does, to me liquid is better than powder and cereal does help.Good luck and enjoy this time he'll be okay. P.S. find a new pediatrician LOL!!

You dont say how old he is. As for the cereal, too young, babies should not have cereal. Also I have NEVER heard of that, cereal in bottle makes them stop spitting up. I would say in all my experience as a mother, childcare giver, you need to switch formulas. You 1st need to start on a non dairy;soy. Try similac Isomil . Many babies are on htis. Go to the Similac site. http://welcomeaddition.com/productinfo.aspx . . learn what they have to offer. But you definately ned to change formulas. & your Dr. may need a change too. If your baby is constantly spitting up, he/she should advise of form. change, it is a normal prob. & as for the gass that will help too. Also sometimes too high of iron can cause gassiness. Remember what works for 1 baby doesnt always work for another!

I don't understand why his pediatrician would say not to worry about it. If he is spitting up his formula, it might not be the best formula for him. Most pediatricians will change up his formula until the best is found for him.
Also,
Putting cereal in it is not going to help with spitting up. You are not supposed to put a baby on cereal until they are at least 4 to 5 months old, for several different reasons your pediatrician can explain.
Sounds to me like you need to change pediatricians.

If he is spitting up that much, there is something obviously not right, and he is not getting the nutrition he needs. If it is only with formula and not with water or juices, my guess is he is allergic to milk. Try a soy based formula and see if that helps. That is all my son needed (he had the same problems)

Don't do cereal yet, and NEVER in the bottle. (They can choke.)
If he's spitting up that much, he might have reflux - which is fairly common. If your pediatrician says not to worry, I'd seek a second opinion from someone else. Reflux is easily treatable, and most kids outgrow it by a year old.

Have you tried the Dr. Brown's natural flow? It is hard, does he have relux disease? My son had that and he spit up all the time. I just had to deal with it.
You can always get a second opinion. You are the mom and no one knows your baby like you do.

The baby maybe lactose intolerent. The first milk isn't the best choice of milk all the time. Try another milk, I like Enfamil Lipil with Iron. I can't beleive the doctor didn't suggest the change of milk to you.
