Non Christians celebrate because they taste good. Like Christmas cake, it isn't so much faith but custom with a lot of people.

today is pancake day, Pancake Tuesday AKA Fat Tuesday AKA Mardi Gras. Some people don't know the real meaning of the day,so they just celebrate something else to join in on the excitement

Beacuse people like the 'nice' bits of religion such as Shrove Tuesday(Pancake Tuesday) where they get to fill their guts with yummy pancakes and Christmas where they get presents. I think it's a bit sad really. I don't suppose they will all be rushing to celebrate Ash Wednesday tomorrow by fasting from meat!

Since most people don't associate Pancake Day with something more familliar like Fat Tuesday they don't realize it is the same thing.

cos its a day when people make pancakes and non-christians think "oh pancakes are fun 2 make and they taste nice" and so they celebrate it...
