car making sound?

i have a 94 audi cs 100 whenever i turn my steeringwheel i hear a popping sound...and it is horrible.....what could the problem be??

check your drive knuckles they are probably bad and don't drive the car until it can be fixed if this is what it is you could have more problems if they actually go out on you while driving

have mech check the cv joints

your cv joint needs replacing, they always make that sound when they go bad.
