A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.

"Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned."

OR

"That team totally pwned us."

I give the credit of creation to the author "daniel rivera" On urbandictionary In 2003.

Since pwned originated as a typo, it is sometimes used as an over exageration of "Owned". Anytime you need help or are unsure of what a slang term, or word means just refer yourself to urbandictionary.com and type the word in, its a pretty cool site.

Not sure what you mean, owned, pound, pond, I owned a cadilac. The dog is in the poundg. Sixteen ounces equal a pound. A pound is a foreign piece of money. The ducks are in the pond. The letters you have type are not words.
