And you have done everything suggested on the bullying advice websites. Your child has even hit the bully(s) back (which is not recommended on any of the bullying websites). The teachers and the principal are ignoring it, saying kids will be kids. Should you take it up with the school board or you state congress first??????

I tried the local Sheriff's Dept., they said they couldn't (or wouldn't) be able to do anything. I know my State has Anti-Bully Legislature......

Take it up with the school board then go up the ladder until something is done!...make sure and keep a note book with everyone you have talked to ,the things you have done to try to stop it,dates, times anything that will show that you have tried and tried.Don't leave anything out.I have a 12 year old nephew (who lives with me) that was assaulted at school,a kid just walked up and punched him his eye swelled shut and was cut by a ring that the boy was wearing. The boy was sent to an alternative school for 30 days ,but i didn't think it was enough so the security for the school agreed and is now handing it over to the D.A.........then i found out this is not the first time he has been sent to the alternative school,he had just gotten out for having marijuana at school.Sometimes it helps to talk with the parents of the kid but sometimes the parents just don't care what their kids do,so it's better to take it up with the school & the law if nessecerry.

First off I would take it up with the school board....I heard the best thing to do for your child is to listen to him/her so you are aware of everything that is going on. Pull your kid out if you have to. Not to freak you out or anything, but I saw a show on TV where things like this got out of hand....and no one would listen to the child being bullied or take him/her seriously. In this case results could (and have) end in accidental death or suicide. Change schools, move, home school....anything you can do to aleive your child of this stressful and mentally challenging time. Good luck. *edited...of course I don't mean to sound like I am suggesting you back down. Fight for what is best for your child...go to the teacher, then the principal and the parent of the bully if you have to. Do whatever you can to make it stop, then look at other options if nothing helps. Just forget politicians altogether. They don't care about your kid....nor do they have the time to deal with your problems.

When this happened to my daughter (she wore glasses). I stepped back to let the school handle it, and when they didn't, I went to the school and waited outside the class. When my daughter came out (she was 7 years old) she pointed out the bully. I went right up to that little SH** and told him he ever so much as looked at my daughter again, I was going to be all over him like mud on a pig. I have really large green eyes that turn black when I am angry ( my ex-husband used to call it "The Evil Eye"). - - It must have worked because after that she said he never even glanced her way.
Now, that was 17 years ago, I'm not certain it would fly now, you might be sued, but then again maybe not. Maybe the kid will be so scared he won't mention his encounter with the "Mad Parent"
Good Luck

Definately start at the school board. They should be made aware of the lack of action of your school administrators. Our board has a zero tolerance policy on bullying. If you still get no where with the board you can go to your state politicians or even seek legal advice.

I'd go down to the school and give the bully an intesnse talking to. Then, I would go see the bully's parents and kick them in the nuts.
This is one of the reasons why I will never have kids, I just couldn't handle those situations without losing it.

Just try with the school first. Then the board.
At same time, it is good for your child to learn how to defend himself or be offensive without beating. Like giving a 'look'. Or getting help of friends to make a 'stand'.

Yes. You should. Don't let your child continues to be bullied again. It's going to ruin his mental stability. Trust me. I've been through sort of the same thing & it takes real hard work to get over. A childhood is a really important part of one's life. Take care of his & please do something at your best. He'll grow up thanking his mother a lot.

Absolutely. Everyone is ENTITLED to an education and BULLYING should not be tolerated. Our school suspends a child for any type of bullying, cursing, fighting, etc.
I would go as high as I need to.
