Everyone knows ONE of them. We all know that they lie, make things up, and at the very least embellish. They always have been there, done that, or know someone who had. They one up everyone all the time. It drives me crazy. However, the best thing to do is ignore it. Actually, avoid listening to this person whenever possible. If you have to, just shake your head and get away ASAP. My personality makes that very difficult, however I have learned from experience that you can not win with these people and it just makes it more frustrating!! So, leave it alone... everyone already has this person figured out. No response makes them look foolish. If you respond you look foolish for debating with a fool.

Whenever MsKnowItAll starts in, just say "thank you for your opinion. I'll keep it in mind", then walk away. If she keeps up or you can't walk away, say something like "Yes, I heard you." in a slightly condescending tone of voice.
You need to change your response to her behavior. Don't let yer get to you. Just act like you are being kind to her by listening but that you don't really give much weight to her point of view.

don't engage in any conversation with her. maybe eventually she'll get the hint. if she brings any topic up, sort of brush off a simple answer like "oh that's nice" or "hmmm i see" or "i don't know"
no matter how badly you want to say something else, just keep it simple and boring for her then maybe she'll loose interest. if she asks about your wedding say something like "oh we are still trying to decide" or "i am in the middle of making a decision" but be very evasive with her.

First of all, try not to take everything she says to heart. Ask her not to offer advice or opinions if you don't ask for them. Basically, if she really bothers you that much, try to keep your distance from her, if possible.

Just tell her next time she offers her opinion.
Jane, while I appreciate your opinion on occassions no everyone wants to hear your thoughts and feelings. I know that may sound forward, but sometimes it offends people the way you are always giving us your opinons.

Sounds like you have a very strong "opinion" about this person.
Put down the stone. You have a glass house, remember?

Maybe you need some more opinions. I'll bet she's saying she works with this person who has no opinions about anything.
