(It's not Randy Travis and not country.) It's a guy singing, but he doesn't have a deep voice. It's a very mellow song, like one you'd hear in the grocery store now. The 'forever and ever' lyrics are strong in the song and the 'ever' is held and the tune goes up and down with every letter of 'ever'. I think it's a love song and was out late 80's?

It was a mainstream song and what I'd consider kind of adult contemporary. Rick Astley is close, but his voice is too deep. It was sort of like Chicago, too, but not them.

I'm pretty sure your talking about "Together Forever" by Rick Astley. He was out in the late 80's during the dance music days, along with the likes of Wang Chung and others.

Lucky you were born that far away so
We could both make fun of distance
Lucky that I love a foreign land for
The lucky fact of your existence

Baby I would climb the Andes solely
To count the freckles on your body
Never could imagine there were only
Ten Million ways to love somebody

Le ro lo le lo le, Le ro lo le lo le
Can't you see
I'm at your feet

Whenever, wherever
We're meant to be together
I'll be there and you'll be near
And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, hereunder
You'll never have to wonder
We can always play by ear
But that's the deal my dear

Lucky that my lips not only mumble
They spill kisses like a fountain
Lucky that my breasts are small and humble
So you don't confuse them with mountains
Lucky I have strong legs like my mother
To run for cover when I need it
And these two eyes that for no other
The day you leave will cry a river

Le ro le le lo le, Le ro le le lo le
At your feet
I'm at your feet

Whenever, wherever
We're meant to be together
I'll be there and you'll be near
And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, hereunder
You'll never have to wonder
We can always play by ear
But that's the deal my dear

Le ro le le lo le, Le ro le le lo le
Think out loud
Say it again

Le ro lo le lo le lo le
Tell me one more time
That you'll live
Lost in my eyes

Whenever, wherever
We're meant to be together
I'll be there and you'll be near
And that's the deal my dear

Thereover, hereunder
You've got me head over heels
There's nothing left to fear
If you really feel the way I feel

Here is what i think is the lyric u search for:
You don't know how many times
I've stayed up late
Lying in my bed
Just thinking of you

I just want you to hold me tight
Don't worry about anything
Everything will be all right

I don't care about the time
Because you're always on my mind
Baby, no matter what I do
I'm always thinking of you

I wanna stay in this place
Stay in this place with you
I want you to put your arms around me
And kiss my face
I want you to look into my eyes
And tell me

That we will always be together
Forever and ever

You couldn't make me mad at you
Even if you tried
That's something no one else could do
And baby I don't lie

Your smile just makes me melt
That's something I've never felt

When you touch my face
I feel like I'm in heaven
And God sent this angel down to this place

I wanna stay in this place
Stay in this place with you
I want you to put your arms around me
And kiss my face
I want you to look into my eyes
And tell me
That we will always be together
Forever and ever

All I ever wanted was to be with you
Now you have made all my dreams come true

It really sounds like you are describing "Forever" by Kiss! It is on the 1989 "Hot In The Shade" album and one great song! Paul Stanley sings it and in a very soft voice. He sustains the "For-eevveeer" and his range and strength of vocals keep changing. I really think this might be what you're looking for!

Is it that wedding song "Always" by Atlantic Starr? I still hear it on the radio and in stores...lol...it's sappy, but gosh I love that song. My aunt used it for her wedding in 1987. "And for---ev-e-r-r it would be, you and me? It's an R and B song, if we're talking about the same song. Opening:"Girl you are to me, all that a woman should be, and I dedicate my life to you always."

Is it Forever and ever by Demi Roussos

Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be the one
That shines in me like the morning sun.
Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be my spring,
My rainbow's end and the song I sing.

Take me far beyond imagination.
You're my dream come true, my consolation.

Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be my dream,
My symphony, my own lover's theme.
Ever and ever, forever and ever my destiny
Will follow you eternally.

Take me far beyond imagination.
You're my dream come true, my consolation.

Ever and ever, forever and ever you'll be the one
That shines in me like the morning sun.
Ever and ever, forever and ever my destiny
Will follow you eternally
