The rule is just one chance, but it depends on the judge; you can claim you didn't got the jury duty but you will be arrested anyway until you can prove your case. An you still have to convince the judge that the mailman is lying.
Don't want to do jury duty? Then go there and tell them you don't believe on the Justice System, tell them that you just want to enjoy our way of life without giving anything back to this country, they'll call you a bad citizen and send you home. But to do what you are doing now is just asking for trouble, and you will get your own trial.

Finander ... Are you still trying to weasel your way out of reporting for jury duty?
If you are disabled or you have a legimate excuse, then I beg your forgiveness. However, if you just feel special and don't want to serve because you don't feel like it, all I can say is this: I hope your local police or fire department won't feel the same and treat YOU the same way you're treating your community. If you want to enjoy and benefit from the services your community provides, it's only fair that YOU should step up and do YOUR share once in a while.
Don't you think so, Finander? Or are you the kind of guy that likes to watch others pull your weight for you? Step up like a man and do it, for Pete's sake.
