Flickering isn't contrast, it is refresh rate. Right-click on desktop, Properties, Settings, Advanced. Then click on the Monitor tab. Here you can adjust the refresh rate. The higher the better.

You will usually notice more flicker when your monitor is around fluorescent lights.

if it's flickering, then it is the refresh rate doing it. goto the control panel and select displays. choose the settings tab and then advance. here you change the refresh rate. if this continues to flicker, then chances are the drivers need updated or the monitor is on its way out and time for a new one.
