you can either do a mid-air pump and go under, or toss up a soft hook high off the glass, another alternative is drawing a foul, if your a smaller guy get the big shot blockers up in the air then go into their body shoulder first, and just try to throw up a layup, at least you'll go to the line and get them in foul trouble

If you're playing in the park, try to practice double clutching (bringing the ball back down quickly then putting up the shot). If you're playing in an organized game (with a referee), you might wanna try drawing a foul. Don't be scared, get contact with the body and lay up the ball with BOTH hands. If you have two arms up when going for the layup, then it's an increased chance of you getting hit and fouled. If you lay up with one hand, you'll probably get swatted cleanly with no foul

it all depends on what your are skilled at and how tall you are. if you are short, i suggest you work on a tear-drop. this is done by flipping the ball over the taller opponent as you drive the lane. usually this is the safest play since it involves little contact. watch NBA point guards that drive the lane, they have perfected it.
you can always pump fake and go into your defender and try your luck at the free throw line. angles and power are nothing, just get the ball in the hoop!

Use displays out of your teammates to make area. prepare making your shot swifter, yet do no longer rush it. the swifter your shot is, the fewer time the defender has to dam it. For layups, create touch whilst going as much as attain. in case you start up up the touch, you may look after the defender from blocking off the shot. If he makes touch with you, it relatively is a undesirable. circulate without the ball. the toughest guy to look after is the guy who's continuously shifting. Taller human beings will particularly much continuously choose for the block, so improve to love the pump pretend. verify you create area after the pump pretend to furnish you an common open seem. substitute your speed whilst dribbling. this is common to guard a guy who's continuously happening a similar %.. try gaining awareness of latest sorts of crossovers. Being unpredictable makes it perplexing for the defender to stay in front of you. particularly of a fade away, I advise engaged on a step back. Fade aways are very low share photos and coaches despise them. additionally, step backs enable you to have extra stability on your shot, and that they have got a extra desirable danger of moving into. finally, attempt to be an all-around participant. i understand scoring is relaxing, yet there is a lot extra to basketball. Defensively, attempt to be aggressive via getting steals and rebounds. the least perplexing thank you to attain is a quickly destroy off of a thieve. additionally, attempt to get your teammates in contact via being a playmaker. looking the open guy and making large passes will relatively help your all-around pastime. shop enjoying annoying!

Well, I used to play street ball. And that tall guy wasn't that tall to me. But if you want a surefire way. Dribble right, switch back, juke em and then smash your elbow into his face with all your might. Take your step and Booyah, Lay-up!
If he calls foul, tell him there ain't no cryin in Street Ball. And that he should go home to his momma and complain. Either way you have to be there when he isn't. Three steps ahead or two back. Sometimes a strong arm works wonder.

i would say watch Nash, wade or iverson. most of the time use your body to shield the ball and dont show the ball until u r ready to lay up. its almost like blocking out to get a rebound but in this case u r blocking out for a layup. even if u dont get the lay up u can get fouled in the process. i hope u r good at Ur free throws!

Just go straight into them, aim for the chest. Taller palyers don't like when you go straight into them, it gives them a bad angle when trying to block the shot.

Learn to lay-up with your left and right. That way they have to guess when going to block. Then you can switch hands in mid-air and presto, open lay-up.
