What if the expectant mother lifts a box and miscarries as a result?
What if she exercises too vigorously and miscarries as a result?
Even if it is unintentional, wouldn't this constitute manslaughter?
And wouldn't an inquest and autopsy have to be conducted for each miscarriage? When the cause of death is uncertain, I don't think that the coroner's office has a choice, do they?

Sorry folks, but those of you that want to raise a fetus to the status of a human being have to consider the practical implications!
Whether the mother's actions are deliberate, careless, or totally unintentional, the point is that an investigation WOULD have to be conducted. And, YES, that would be overly burdensome and wouldn't make any sense.
That is but one reason why it is so foolish to treat a fetus as a full-fledged human being.

Abortion is a choice, Miscarriage isn't. If you need your little "analogy" explained then I feel sad for you, you have obviously never suffered a miscarriage to question it in such a cavalier way. Evil tart? Yep that's apt I give you that... EDIT Em yeah we are aware of what "involuntary" means. A woman can take all the prenatal care, vitamins, minerals, bed rest, Doctors visits all the care and effort in the world and STILL miscarry. Neglect does not come into it. Involuntary it may be but its not manslaughter ergo NOT involuntary manslaughter. You do know the definition of Manslaughter dont you? Do i have to explain that to you too? Its an UNLAWFUL killing of a person by another without implied or expressed intent to do so. It not UNLAWFUL to miscarry ergo its not Manslaughter......Are we on the same page yet? Probably not. Deaf ears, blind eyes and closed hearts never hear, see of feel. I hope you never have the misfortune of loosing a very much wanted and cared for child.

Yes, this is what we need...more cases clogging up our court system. Let's try every single miscarriage...what a brilliant idea! (Note sarcasm). What if she miscarries just because the baby has a strange anomoly? Women have been known to just self-abort because there was a serious defect in the fetus. Women miscarry all the time. What if she wants the baby and goes to a fertility clinic and it doesn't take. Does she get tried for that too? What if she slipped by accident on some water on the kitchen floor? Does she get tried for that?
One, it would be impossible to try every case and have a medical examiner look at every case. In most cases, a miscarriage happened...if she had a miscarriage, she WANTED THE BABY! Second, who's going to pay for all this? You? Third, our court system is so clogged already with rapists, real murderers and robbers.
Let's think these things through with a little more logic people.

You're talking about an accidental injury/death over which the woman does not necessarily have control. It is not the same thing as intentionally slaughtering a child.
So let me ask you pro-aborts this. When does a "fetus" become a "child"? When it's born? What about one second before it's completely born? Two?...
The truth is that pro-aborts use the term "fetus" simply because if they don't call it a "human", it won't prick their guilty consciences. Pure and simple.
To the asker's additional details:
Stop it! You're comparing apples to oranges here. As some have said, sometimes a woman's body miscarries through no conduct of her own. It is a natural, if unfortunate process. It is a FAR cry from intentional slaughter of the unborn.

Don't you think you are splitting hairs? A woman will not miscarry from picking up a heavy box. There was a report on a young woman who did try to miscarry by jumping off of a building. She didn't have a miscarriage, but did break both of her legs. The woman's body usually does not abort the fetus unless there is something wrong with it. Sometimes this does not happen, and we have children with birth defects. This is a proven scientific medical fact.
I horse back rode, water skiied, and played soft ball until I was going into my 6th month. By that time you could start to tell I was pregnant. My doctor told me I could, and to stop when I started showing.

Misscariage is a natural occurance and should not be confused with events that are induced deliberately by humans to accomplish the abortion of a fetus. So no it is not manslaughter.
When a woman miscarries it is an emotional event and she needs support not ridicule or witch hunt.

A woman having a miscarriage no more constitutes murder or manslaughter than some one who has cancer, a heart attack, or any other chronic illness and dies, constitutes suicide. It is ridiculous and insensitive to think that it would.

A fetus is not considered human until 24 weeks. If she miscarries due to any reason, it is not considered any crime on her part.

No, of course not. But she might be guilty if she tries to abort the fetus herself and not go to the doctor. For instance, if she drinks draino or alcohol or something.
