hey guys and gals I asked who was the best guitar player IN COUNTRY MUSIC and not to make it a popularity contest KENNY CHESNEY doesn't even play the leads on his songs.

Several of the answers here are kinda funny.George Strait more or less just has a guitar strapped over his shoulder,and plays rythm,that is when he DOE'S play it. Carlo Santana is not a Country Music artist,he's a ROCK guitarist.Never seen the overrated Chesney do anything with a guitar that even aroused my attention.
By far,Vince Gill is one of the most talented guitarist in Country.He used to play (and )sing with The Flying Burrito Brothers.He usually plays a Fender Telecaster,and can burn it up!

Pure playing, probably still Glen Campbell. He was overshadowed by Chet Atkins, Hank Snow and a couple of others for years but all of those are gone now. If you have a chance to see him in person it's a real treat. He plays a variety of guitars and a great variety of music.

Brad Paisley is the best in my opinion,i used to think Keith Urban was the best but when i saw the video for 'She's Everything' that when i decided that Brad was the best guitar player.

Keith Urban plays the guitar very well...I've watched him play it, like on Saturday Night Live and the CMA. Yeah...he's pretty darn good at what he does. Sings good, too ! Writes great songs/lyrics.
