Giving love would only be a curse when it stopped being enjoyable to see your reactions, your smile, and your gentle demeanor. That would be on the 30th of February of the 5th of Never which would never exist. Your sweet loving would make Grassy hop the fence to come to you.

Love stops being a gift when too many people love you and you have to make a choice, it only becomes a curse if you are with someone and you are in love with half the Earth.

I'm going to actually be serious about this one.
Love stops being a gift and becomes a curse when one or both people stop caring to put effort into the relationship. If it's a sexual relationship, it normally dwindles into meaningless sex that you become sick of real damn fast.
It also can be a curse if you really care for someone, and they just don't care back. That really sucks. And hurts.

When the person you love starts to take advantage of you. Or when the person leaves you, and you can't stop loving them. I'm sure there are other examples as well. Love can definitely be a bit of both. Hopefully, it is more often a gift.
