Two issues there.. rich and poor, and then starving children. First there are very rich and very poor people due to the economic system (country and location) where they are born and live. Then there's the issue of the decisions they make: poor people tend to make poor decisions. Spending habits, education, all that. Do things one way and get wealth, do it another way and be broke. As for the starving children, cant' tell you that other than there are just too many humans for them to feed in their region I guess.

The world is a greedy place. People will aim to get as much as they can for themselves without thinking about others at all. Some people are just born into a better environment to grow up to be wealthy while others will never have even a chance at wealth. Some people are responsible, smart and really earned their money while some people are irresponsible and may be very poor because of their lack of motivation for life. There are many things about this world that are very sad and probably will never change because everybody cares most about themselves.

Because of religion. If you rebel against "the norm" you can't go to Heaven.
Religion is what keeps the poor from killing the rich.
A lot of it too is due to individuals in poor countries not being responsible individuals. They can hardly support themselves, but they choose to have unprotected sex and have children that end up starving to death.

Hunger is not the problem, it is a symptom. All the countries where children are starving have limited economic freedom.
