wot benefits would i get if i overclocked my graphics card ( ati radeon 9600 ) and cpu and wot would i see visually and is it safe and wot is the safe limit, it is running at 398 mhz 225 mhz at moment

Really you are looking at maybe a 10-25% performance increase depending on the CPU you have.

Overclocking is safe if you know what you are doing. If you don't you risk damaging your components.

Basically, overclocking will cause the device to run faster, at higher clock speeds, but also generate more heat. If you overheat components, you will damage them. If your heat is in acceptable ranges, then it should be smooth sailing (but not always).

I don't recommend overclocking as it violates warranty, and the devices 99% of the time are configured to run at that speed for a reason. You might see a performance benefit at the risk of damaging your PC.

i do not personally do it because it can harm your computer. I built my computer to play a game called counter strike source and i have never really seen the need to do it but i konw people who do. It basically boosts the performance of your computer kinda like on a little bit of drugs. If you do decide to do it just make sure you read enough up on it to be prepared and everything. and good luck!
