Not Dangerous but why would you

2007-02-20 04:41:07 · answer #1 · answered by E-Razz 4 · 0 0

No it's not dangerous, it's just energy foolish. The summer setting rotates the blades in the direction that draws warm air up, as to cool the room. The winter setting rotates the blades in the direction that draws warm air down, to help keep the room warm. Hence, running the fan in the wrong direction for the season just doesn't make sense.

I hope this clears things up for you.

Not dangerous, just backwards. It makes the blades spin the opposite direction. Hot air rises so the Winter setting pushes the air down. Opposite for Summer. So you are not doing yourself any famors, but not dangerous.

It isn't dangerous, but it doesn't make sense. You want to have the air going up to push the warm air back down and around.

In the winter ,you are supposed to put your fan on counterclockwise,to bring the heat downward,in the summer put your fan on clockwise to distribute the heat upward.

I don't think so. But it doesn't help either: The winter setting is supposed to blow the warm air down where it will keep us nice and toasty.
