ya know...I work in fast food and am not trying to stand up for others working in it but....they do expect the employees to have the orders out in a certain time because they are being timed. No, that doesn't give them the right to goof up orders since they should be able to read and understand english to get the orders correct. Even where I work, I have seen people get drive thru orders incorrect and the customers coming back in to get what they have ordered. Not only does it look bad on that person that made the food, it looks bad on the restraunt themselves.

It honestly is not that difficult to work in fast food and I wish those working in it would understand that. I work with a lot of highschool kids that would rather slack off and goof around than actually work. One of the managers who is 10 years younger than me, and I'm 30, is more interesting in going out for smoke breaks every hour and being buddy buddy with his friends there than actually being a manager. Its sad but true. No the pay is not very good but I still go to work everyday doing my job to the best of my ability and do my best to make sure every order is correct before the customer gets it even if it takes a little bit longer to do. I myself would rather wait an extra minute to get my food knowing it was make correctly the first time.

I understand what you are saying, and I'm sure being pregnant doesn't help your state. You get a craving and there you are with the wrong thing. Well, I'm not pregnant and I get just as annoyed. I don't go to drive thru very often, but when I do it does seem that things get screwed up. But, then you are talking thru a mike that makes everyone sound like they are Mickey Mouse on helium, so, considering you are talking to someone who doesn't speak English well in the first place, who can they get it right. And who has the time to check it out when they get the bag. You have to drive off. Oh, thank you for the chance to vent. I know that was what you were doing, but I appreciate that I can do the same. Do we feel better yet!!!

I hate that too. I actually had a quasi-argument with a chick taking my order at McD's once. She barely spoke English and couldn't believe I wanted FOUR McMuffins and TWO drinks. I had to repeat myself saying "YES!" I was just taking breakfast to my husband's work for him and myself. She screwed it up.

When I had my restaurant, I double checked every to-go order. Sure I screwed up a few times when we were really busy, but I always made it right with them.

Hey, since I'm retired, maybe I should work in fast food. I've never done it before and I promise to be better than most drive-thru people!

Probably those crappy speaker systems they use; sometimes it's just hard to understand what they are saying, so maybe they have a hard time hearing you too. That and the food preparers are probably working on about 50 other orders at the same time which makes it harder for them to get everything right. I always check the bag before I drive away to make sure they got everything right.

Maybe people should speak clearly into those speakers. And maybe listen when the person at the window repeats it back to you?

I think I've had only one order that was wrong in the past 10 years, and that was because I didn't order the right thing in the first place.

Just so you know they don't listen half the time, and you should look at your order before driving off. Take the time and look at it and if something isn't right tell them right there on the spot at the drive up window to correct it. So try that next time!

I thinkits because they are rushing to get you through, they forget stuff or put in your order wrong. Thats why you should always double check your order before you pull away
