Maybe the two of you can spend a lil time cooking together so he can teach you how he likes his food. Everyone has a different taste so do not take it personal. Get recipes and faves from his mother!

Is it really cooking or something ... else? LOL.
If it's the something else, give and you shall receive. If you give and do not receive, then you need to have a talk with him about expectations.
As far as cooking, if he won't eat your cooking, ask him why and how you could improve it to better suit his tastes.

Batter it up, deep fry it, and dip in barbecue sauce.
Most guys would eat a manhole cover if cooked like that.

Ask him what his favorite food is, and if you don't know how to make it there's always the interweb, or if you don't want to go through that trouble just try to make your food look artistic and pretty. You know?, appatizing.
