Sri Lanka currently have three spinners in their regular 15; Sanath Jayasuriya, Malinga Bandara and Muttiah Muralitharan (although Tillakaratne Dilshan also bowls part-time offspin). Of those three there is no question as to who is the best bowler. Murali has taken over 650 wickets in test cricket, and over 500 in ODIs. His ability to turn the ball is dazzling, and he frequently bamboozles batsmen with changes of pace, spin and direction. With those statistics, he can also claim to be the best Sri Lankan spinner ever.

No doubt it is Muralitharan. Outstanding bowler - created so much fear that "some teams" tried to have him outlawed. Shame on them !!!
