Here are 2 articles to help you out. You do not need a heated lash curler. It will work without heating. The first article tells you how to use a blow dryer to heat one if you'd like to try it. The second article provides more basic instructions.

Personally, I do not like to use my lash curler after I have applied mascara. My lash curler stays cleaner and it's easier on my lashes to just curl them once.

Eyelash Curler - From Julyne Derrick, Your Guide to Beauty.

How to use an eyelash curler.

Curling eyelashes make your eyes look wider & brighter. Metal eyelash curlers are better than plastic. You'll want to replace the pads on the curler every 2 months. For best results, you'll want to gentrly heat the curler with a blowdryer for no more than 5 seconds.

Here's How:

1. Eyelash curlers work best on clean eyelashes. Make sure eyelashes are free of mascara. If necessary, use eye makeup remover to remove old mascara.

2. With your blowdryer on low heat, blow air on the curler for no more than 5 seconds. Touch the metal. If it's hot, let it cool for a few seconds. You don't want to burn your eyelid.

3. Open the curler, clamp lashes near the roots. Hold for 10-30 seconds. Never curl lashes after you apply mascara -- as the mascara dries, lashes can stick to the curler & be torn from the roots. Don't bother curling bottom lashes.

4. Repeat on the other eye.

What You Need:

* Metal eyelash curler
* Blowdryer

Article 2: How to Curl Your Lashes

* STEP 1: Apply eye shadow and eyeliner, allowing it to dry before curling your lashes. Mascara is always applied after curling the lashes to avoid lash breakage and smearing.

* STEP 2: Ensure that your lashes are clean and dry.

* STEP 3: Open the curler and place your upper lashes inside its mouth. Close your eye slightly, then open it; all of the lashes should move into the curler's mouth. Always hold the eyelash curler so that the mouth is parallel to your lashes.

* STEP 4: Move the curler closer to the eye until the tool comes to the base of the lashes, but not over the skin of the eyelid.

* STEP 5: Keep the eye open and slowly close the curler. Your eyelashes should fan out evenly across the upper bar. If at any time you feel pinching, readjust the curler.

* STEP 6: Hold the closed curler for a slow count of five, keeping your hand and face steady. Repeat for additional volume.

* STEP 7: Repeat with the other eye.

Tips & Warnings

* Practice. This beauty enhancer takes a little getting used to.

* Clean any eye makeup off of the curler regularly and replace the curler pad every few months.

* Never pull the curler away from your face when it's clamped onto your lashes, as this may pull your lashes out of your lid.

1.) Curl Lashes. (Not just once, a couple times for extreme curl)
2.) Apply primer. Let dry
3.) Apply 2nd step of mascara.
And...Voila! You've got the prettiest eyes in the world!

Curl your eyelashes with the curler first. Then put the white primer coat on your eyelashes. Then the second black one. If you want, you can curl your eyelashes again with the curler after all that.

g'luck
