Get an egg, write his name on it, put it inside one of his socks, and hide it in a dark place.

no, that will not work. just give your baby some baby tylenol for pain. also, they make these teething tablets that dissolve instantly in the baby's mouth, those worked for my daughter. another thing that helped a lot was freezing slices of apples. you should try it, all you need is an apple, a knife and a freezer. :) slice the apples up like little sticks about 1/2 an inch thick all around (1/2 by 1/2) and freeze it for about an hour. also, baby oragel!!
i would give her the tylenol frist thing in the morning, then let her have some apples if her teeth were bothering her again later. when she was finished with the apples, then id rub some oragel on her gums. and the teething tablets were for night time. (they last 6 hours) so she never woke up from her teeth bothering her.
good luck

That's an old wives tale. Try freezing a wet facecloth or giving your baby some frozen carrots to chew on. The cold will help his or her gums feel better and if they're chewing on something, it will help the teeth break through faster. Just make sure his/her hands stay warm enough :-)

On one hand their is something to be said about old wives tales. They very often have a scientific reason for working, but are old wives tales because old wives figured it out through trial and error b4 modern technology. On the other hand this sounds more like an old superstition.

Never heard of that one, and here I'd thought I had heard them all. That may get a bit stinky. I would try rubbing his/her gums and maybe a bit of tylenol for pain. My children seemed to be soothed my those rubber teethers. Do not get the water filled ones. The best ones I have found are available via the one step ahead catalog. Good luck and happy teething!

WHAT??? I've never heard of that one. What's the benefit? I think it would reek after an hour.
To help your teether.... Tyenol or motrin - especially 30 minutes before feedings and before bed. Cold stuff to gnaw on - like a cold wet washcloth (keep one in the fridge in a baggie) or those teething rings, or in a pinch, a frozen bagel.

Lol.. never heard of that one...
but what you could do.. that worked best for my daughter..
put a wash rag in the freezer, take it out and let her chew on it..
also.. Tylenol will help ease the pain..
this might sound crazy.. but it has always worked in my family.. cook some chicken legs.. make sure all the loose bones and meat are off the bone, then give it to her.. she will gnaw on that thing like crazy and feel a lot better after.. just a suggestion... but it has always helped for us!

I've never heard of that but my grandfather did tell me that letting a baby gum on a green onion takes away the pain as the onion contains some sort of numbing agent.
