If you mean the Company Registration Number, you can go to Companies House. There is an office in most cities. The headquarters is in London. It has to be a Ltd or PLC company.

I suspect you are referring to the Tax Identification number...?
For the Federal number, also called an EIN (Employer ID Numbers), see this:

Keep in mind it is quite possible you will also need a State Tax number, may I suggest doing a Google search for:
YOURSTATE Tax Registration Number
Further, on the state tax number, please note there are several levels or issues with this... Specifically, you will need to know if you only need this for income reporting purposes, or if you also need it for sales tax or use tax purposes... Should you visit the web site, it will likely answer these questions for you, but if it doesn't, there should be a phone number someplace that you can call to ask these questions.

You have to register yourself with the BBB - but until you get a specific TIN (Tax Identification Number) you can use your social security number.
