I'd pick the ring.
On the first movie, there was just so much to it and on the grudge, it just seemed so simple, nothing psychological.
Plus, the ring scared the crap outta me.
The grudge, not so much.

I would go with The Ring. The Grudge was way corny and made no sense to me.
The Ring had me thinking about it for days. When that chick climbed out of the TV - I had nightmares for weeks.

Definitely "The Ring" - it scared me to death. I almost tore the armrest off my seat at the movie theater when she climbed out of the tv!
