So i have a few questions. It has been awile since i had a fish tank :) I have a 75 gallon tank with small fish, lots of plants and a few hiding places like inside a big boats etc. i was wondering.

I would love to have a second ghost knife in the tank. I know there are mixed reviews about this because they get a little aggressive together if they are to close. I also have read people have like a 13" and 9" and them being fine. What are your thoughts?

Also i would like to have an elephant nose as well. Will i have enough room for it to roam free and they all not fight :)

Also i notice my bgn is a small one but it seems to hide most of the time. I have heard people hand feeding it and such like that and playing with it. Is there something i should start to do special to make it this happy, and to bring it out more instead of being in the cave constantly?

I don't recommend another knife or elephant nose. They get too big for one, and they are also electric fish. They find their way through the tank using electricity and with multiple elexctric fish they get confused and stressed. Agression isn't a problem for the most part, its the fact that they will get stressed by being together in a small space and they could die from it.

I personally would not suggest you add either a second black ghost or an elephant nose to the tank. As you know both get large and need space and on top of that the elephant nose is really a schooling fish that needs several of it's own kind to do well.

Additional hiding places will help your current bgk feel more ssecure and willing to come out more often.

Hmmm, have you noticed any of your small fish disappearing? My bgn is a little sneak and will try to put anything that is small enough in his mouth. I have had to give him his own tank with larger mates to avoid losing fish...however, by nature bgn's are nocturnal so most of the day mine will stay sleeping (he kind of reminds me of a dog asleep on his side and will occasionally twitch and switch to his other side) unless I throw in some food and in an instant he's out and about roaming the tank for the food. At night though, if you watch them-they swim about...but you need plenty of hiding places...you can even fool them with putting in a clear tube and they will think they are 'hidden'. During the day you can use a lower lighting and he might come out more...but as for more of these...not until you get plenty more hiding places in the minimum.
