Hello. My laptop was on ground. It had headphones attached to front. I stepped on the end of the headphones where it goes in and it was pushed down with my foot, pushing down the socket with it and now it is loose. when i put in headphones(no matter which ones) the sound is only heard on one side, and i can only get it a little bit on the other side when i fiddle with the socket. It works playing sound without headphones, but i need headphones for certain things.

How can I use my headphones properly? Is there any USB device which I cna plug in and connect headphones to?

If you are handy you can probably take the laptop apart and add some glue or tape to fix the piece that you broke.
If you are still under warranty you can take the laptop to best buy and they should be able to fix it. Even if there is no warranty $100.00 should be the extent of your repair fees and probably less.
SInce you can jiggle the wires to get the connection why not use some tape to hold the wire in place if none of the aforementioned solutions work.
p.s.
keep your laptop off of the floor from now on...count yourself lucky that that was all that happened!

This is the only pcmcia sound card out there and its the best one for laptop in my opinion. Its for the PCMCIA slot, newer laptops are built with the expresscard slots now and there isnt that many products for that yet. Just make sure you have a pcmcia slot if you decide to buy this one

tell them the subsequent call you would be making is to a criminal expert. to the two restoration it for unfastened or he often is the subsequent guy or woman they're talking to. there is not any explanation for a three month old pc to have this difficulty.
