i dont think you're from the u.s. but i'll tell you how it works over here. my baby hasn't seen a doctor since she was born. she is always seen by what we call a nurse practitioner. the nurse is basically just as qualified as a doctor when it comes to the regular old shots and check-up stuff. she only needs the doctor when there is a problem or if your baby isn't progressing through developmentally like she should. so as long as she has all of her shots and is seen by the nurse regularly, it should not be a problem. keep track of her developmental milestones and if she is not on track then definitely request an appontment with the doctor.

If you live in an area where the health nurse comes to your house to do your vaccinations you probably don't need to make seperate well baby check-ups with a doctor. Probably you should make an appointment at a year. If you are concerned either ask the health nurse or the doctor.

Umm. Your child should have been seen when they were 4 months old, six months old, and again now. Your daughter is currently behind on vaccines - they're given at each visit until a year old. But, even more than that - pediatricians look for certain milestones in development at each exam, and the earlier a problem is caught - if there is one - the better. Make an appointment for a checkup ASAP.

As long as she is up to date on her shots and having well child checks with this health nurse then there is really no need for her to go to the doctor and no reason for you to be embarrased. She is healthy and never been ill so really no need for more than the nurse anyway.

We have a 10 month old also, and he's only been for a doctor visit once, because we thought he might have had an ear infection (which he didn't). As long as the health professionals are keeping you up to date and your baby is happy, I would say you're doing just fine. Don't forget, a lot of us are making it up as we go along, too! :)

As long as she has had her shots and a health nurse seeing here then its fine. The doc isnt needed unless the health nurse tell you to or the child is actually sick.

You need to get that baby to the doctor as soon as possible, children need shots every (3 months). You can mess up the baby's immune system, and make her prone to diseases, and air borne illnesses. You need to be sure she is o.k. and hear it from the DOCTOR point of view. May I ask why you haven't taken the child to the doctor? She has to get her blood drawn in 2 months. By now you should know if she has low blood. etc. You need to see the doctor today. Don't woory about what they will ask you, tell them you're there then, when you go. Be Blessed!

Because you vaccinate your baby, I would definately keep up with the wellbaby visits. The health risks are so much greater when their vaccinated, I'd be scared not to be in regular attendance of a doctor.

Sorry, but that's JMHO

Tara, you are being negligent as a parent. She needs to be checked by a doctor-there is much more to it than that.....the doctor checks vision, reflexes, heartbeat, to name a few. Please get your daughter an appointment. While she may be healthy, how awful would you feel to find out that she has a heart condition? Take her for peace of mind and for her healthy start in life.

As long as she is up to date on her check ups I wouldn't worry to much.
