Why does Rome:total war crash when ive finished a battle?

Question

When i have fought a battle manually, it all goes well, but when ive finished the battle and i want to go back to the campaign map the game crahses and when i restart it the battle is not done and i have to let the compouter do the battle for me...this is annoying. i have the standard edition with patch 1.3 and 1.5 installed for internet multiplayer use. somebody pleas enlighten me. thank you very ,much.

it has been a while since i have played that game is the 1.3 and the 1.5 patch the most up to date? is your video card driver up to date? if they are try and contact the game people because their tech support might be able to help you out more.
